The very handsome and rare "Safari" 110, named after its colour similarity to the Leica Safari R3 was also made in 1979. It is sometimes referred to as the 'Maroon', as labelled on the box but the Japanese brochure uses the French word "marron" for chestnut. It had tan top and bottom covers, with a green maroon middle. The Safari came in a special little presentation case with its own special tan suede EV case. It was used as a presentation item to selected dealers and company officials. It was sold retail in Japan as a special edition of 5000 (see brochure below).
