The AF-mini was introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the original AF. The style is very different, parting from the profile of the classic 35mm series and looking like Japanese cameras of the period.

It is 115x64x40 mm (4.5 x 2.5 x1.5 inches) and includes a built in flash with red eye reduction.

The AD-mini has auto exposure with a CdS meter controlling an electronic programmed shutter. Autofocus of the 34mm f/3.5 Minoxar-T lens is achieved by an infra-red system, close focus of 1.2m (4ft) to infinity and a manual close up setting of 50cm (20 inches).

The built in flash offers a fill-in option and red eye reduction. The DX coding works with films from ISO 100 to ISO 400. Film wind is automatic, but rewind is manual. The camera is powered by a lithium CR123A battery.

The original AF was made in Germany, the new mini-AF was made in the Far-East.
