When Rollei introduced the 35S (S for Sonnar) the Rollei 35 was renamed 35T (for Tessar). Made in Singapore, but with a German made Tessar f3.5 40mm between September 1974 and February 1980. 2-500,B. Black or Chrome plated on brass and aluminium covers (lighter colour and less weight).
From March 1975 the battery description reads: PX 625/ H-D
From 1977 a special extra contact pin in the inside bottom of the back cover for enhanced flash contact (back no longer fits older models)
From January 1977: both feet and meter scales located on top of each other not on bottom and top separated as before, but showing same range of numbers
From December 1979 different distance scale numbers
Technically, Rollei 35 and 35T are identical. The name change was initiated by the introduction of the new Rollei 35 S with a 2.8/40mm Sonnar lens next to the Tessar version.
