Reflex finder - black

Reflex finder : A early brown box with gold logo | A later (grey blue box) | B 50s (grey box) | B 60s (dark blue box)

This Finder Is Constructed At Least Partially Of Brass, As Can Be Seen In The Small Area Of The Photo.  It Does Not Have A Top Over The Lens But It Does Not Look Like It Was Intended To.  There Are NOT 3 Screw Holes Around The Lip As Are Found In The Common Silver Model.  The Inside Of The Lens Assembly Is Perfectly Anodized, No Chipping Around The Lip.

This finder is almost twice the weight of the silver one:

Silver 16 grams
Black 30 grams

A Black Reflex finder is NOT Mentioned In Heckman's "Minox Variations In 8x11" or, in Morris Moses' "Spy Camera - The Minox Story". A retired Minox retailer in Hamburg remembers selling a few black right angle finders and black reflect prisms which he ordered from Minox for customers.

There are several differences between this reflex finder and the Common, aluminium model.

This black one has the camera mounting base held to the reflex head by three screws, not riveted as found on the common silver model.

2nd - The spring clips which hold the finder to the camera are different (holes are drilled at apex of cuts).
