Have you been Minoxed?

Why carry a subminiature? Well, to take photographs when you otherwise would never had had a camera with you.

One lunch time I saw an un-expect tourist out side of my office. Posing for photographs in front of the Lloyds of London building. Many people stopped to look, after all it is not everyday you see a Dalek1 in the streets of London. [Taken with a Minox LX]

Here are more photographs of the Lloyds of London building, taken in November 1999 [with an LX] during

and at night

Another building near my office was used in '101 Dalmatians'.

Trains have played a large part in my daily travels for the past two years. The "Delayed Train Company" in particular.

Virgin Train at Euston - fortunately I don't travel Virgin Rail [Taken with an LX]

Evening rush hour at Liverpool Street, taken with a Minox Lecia IIIf, hand held with a film that expired in 1982! Unfortunately it is black and white and you can't see the full house. 18 platforms with red train delayed banners. The last thing anyone was able to do was rush and the crowded period is about 4 hours morning and 4 hours evening!

Having got a Minox Lecia IIIf on the same day as a Minox AIII is seemed appropriate to use a 19 year old black and white film to test them out.

Minox'd by Yasmin aged 4 and bit

Yasmin does not want to be left out of taking photographs and takes every opportunity to 'borrow' a film camera in preference to her Digital spycamera.

Here is me taking a photograph of Yasmin taking a photograph of me with a Minox Lecia IIIf (December 2000). Unfortunately the new TLX was under test and the shutter never opened.

Yasmin's nursery school friend Minying also taken with the Minox Lecia IIIf (December 2000).

Thirty Years of Minoxing

I have carried a Minox camera with me almost daily for 30 years, since 18th August 1972 when, after 10 weeks summer holiday working I had saved up for a Minox BL. Nearly all my photographs are slides, so it hard finding examples of negatives  from some cameras and these are often from test films. I didn't note what camera was used with the film when it was proceeded, but fortunately Minox negatives show the camera type used by semi-circles and triangles on the border of the film (see the Minox tips page)..
