J..Lancaster, Birmingham, England manufactured a camera designed to look like a pocket watch in 1886. It was sold until the turn of the century. It is a self erecting design consisting of six spring-loaded telescoping tubes.

Patented 4th October 1886 it uses a dry plate film, 1 3/4 in. f/22 achromat (Grubb-type) lens and originally sold for £1 11s 6d (1.575GBP)

Men's size: 1 1/2" x 2 " plates, sold at Christies December 1991 for $34,000.

Ladies' size 1 x 1 1/2" plates, only three known to exist sold for $47,000 at Christies in March 1992 and another October 1996 for $31,500.

Since 1982 reproductions have been offered for sale for $1100-1200.
